Queer ESEA Heritage Event Artwork.

An illustration for gal-dem to accompany the East and South-East Asian Heritage Month event; Envisioning Queer ESEA Heritage. Set within a Ming cloisonn̩ jar, the three sets of figures include modern takes on The Passion of the Cut Sleeve Рa story of gay courtly love, a guanyin (Bodhisattva) who has been represented in multiple and many genders throughout Chinese art history, and the folk story of a women-only island. This serves as a foil to how white, western and eurocentric queer studies often mines from the Greco-Roman classics.
